After thousands of years of civilized development, mankind finally embarked on the path of technological development hundreds of years ago. With the help of science and technology, we quickly realized our wish to fly to the sky and walked out of the earth to see the vast universe.
Compared to the universe, the earth is too small. Due to the exaggerated scale, people are full of infinite curiosity about the universe and want to explore and understand the mysteries of the universe. However, as human beings have become more aware of the universe, the initial curiosity has turned into awe and fear.
When human beings first understood the universe, they saw a dark, cold and lonely space, which could not be compared with the richness of the earth. However, with the continuous improvement of human observation technology, our eyes have gone out of the solar system, out of the Milky Way, and reached the farthest distance that light can reach.
At this time, we understand that the universe is the truly wonderful space. In the vast universe, in addition to all kinds of wonderful things, there are also various dangers. Whether it is an asteroid impact, the destruction of the sun or a supernova explosion, life on the earth can be reset to zero and restart. If a black hole arrives in the solar system, the entire solar system will disappear completely in the near future, leaving only a hole in the solar system.
In the process of exploring the universe, we also realized that the universe is accelerating, and the expansion of the universe reminds us of the possibility that there may be even more mysterious and vast spaces outside the universe. We must know that when we usually blow balloons, the reason why balloons can inflate is not only the constant blowing into them, but the more important thing is that there is the space of the earth outside the balloons.
If we fix a balloon in a limited space, the maximum expansion of the balloon will not exceed the range of this space. The expansion of the balloon is so, so the expansion of the universe should be similar to it. If there is no space outside the universe, how can it keep expanding?
In theory, if anything wants to expand, there needs to be space outside it. Recognizing that there may be space outside the universe, scientists have also put forward three views on the appearance of space outside the universe, the last of which is closer to reality.
1. The universe may be the neuronal organization of a living body. As for the universe may be a part of a certain living body, I believe my friends have also heard of such subversive conjectures. Although this view is difficult for people to accept, many scientists still support it and have published some scientific research papers for it.
The reason why scientists speculate that the universe may be a certain neuronal organization of living organisms is mainly because when scientists study the human brain, they find many similarities with the universe. If we shrink the universe to the size of the human brain, you will be surprised to find that there are indeed many similarities between the two.
The human brain has a large number of neurons, which crisscross and form a complex and sophisticated structure of the brain. And the universe has countless celestial bodies, galaxies, galaxy clusters and other structures, and these structures do not exist completely independently, but are in a state of intertwining and connecting with each other.
Planets revolve around stars, star systems revolve around the center of a larger galaxy, and large galaxies revolve around the center of mass of a larger structure outside the galaxy. The entire universe is in a state of motion, and various celestial bodies, galaxies, etc. form a crisscrossed and complex universe network. This is similar to the human brain.
2. The universe is an infinite space. This view holds that our universe itself is a huge infinite space, and there is no existence outside the universe. However, this view is difficult to explain the rapid expansion of the universe and the theory of the Big Bang.
Just imagine, if our universe itself is an infinite space, then the origin of the universe may not be the singularity big bang, but other modes. And since the space of the universe is infinite, why is it still expanding rapidly? What is the meaning of expansion?
Perhaps we can use another method to explain this view. For example, our universe itself is infinite, and there is only a very small “bubble” in this infinite space. This “bubble” was born 13.8 billion years ago. After that, it began to expand continuously, occupying the space of the universe itself. And human beings live in this “bubble”.
3. Outside the universe is a parallel universe. After Einstein put forward the theory of relativity, he also put forward his own views on the appearance outside the universe. He believed that the universe is not unique, but exists in multiple forms. Outside of our universe, there is an even more expansive space, where there are countless universes, one of which is the universe in which we live.
Hawking once also put forward a similar view to Einstein, he also believed that there is a universe outside the universe, that is, parallel universes exist. The basic science supporting parallel cosmology is string theory. A basic point of string theory is that the basic unit of nature is not point-shaped particles such as electrons, photons, neutrinos, and quarks, but very small linear “strings.”
String theory also tells us that the universe exists in a multi-dimensional form, and there are insensitive universes in every dimension. The universe in which humans live is only a three-dimensional space, and there are countless parallel universes in the three-dimensional space.
We can imagine these universes as fragments, and there is more space outside the fragments. There are 11 such spaces. Each represents a dimension, and there are countless universes within each dimension. These universes are independent of each other and do not interfere with each other, and all have their own scientific system. The scientific theory of each dimensional space is a system, and different dimensional space science basic systems may be different, so human beings in three-dimensional space cannot understand the mystery and science of four-dimensional space.
Of course, although this view is a conjecture recognized by scientists at present, it is still only a theoretical conjecture before string theory is experimentally confirmed. If we can prove string theory in the future, then the existence of multi-dimensional space will become a reality, and parallel universe theory may also become a reality at that time.
It’s just that, even if we prove that there is space outside the universe in the future, it may be difficult to get out of this universe and explore the mysteries outside the universe. Unless mankind develops science to the end and can turn the theoretically existing wormhole technology into reality, it may be possible to break the space barrier and get out of the universe. I just don’t know, what kind of expression would human beings look like when they saw scenes outside the universe?
